Half block Cocker Page 2
This is moving along nice
So it's back and ready to be put together. I really enjoyed doing this project. Everything was a fast turn around. This is somthing I wanted to do for a long time. Plus I have never had a yellow gun before. Well except for the Stingray I painted.
NOTE**** The body hasn't been anodised yet. I'm still undecided with anodizers. However I have it all together. Everything seems to function properly.
So let's assemble. The first thing I always do is inspect to make sure everything is in good shape and no damage. I lay out all the tools and oring I'm going to need. Best part about this project is the elimination og the rear cocking rod and back block. They are real useless items now.
Valve and IVG
To me,these are your most important item. You have to make sure the Valve seats and aligns properly. Once the valve and valve spring are in place,Put in the hammer (adjust the lug just enough so the hammer doesn't slide out) ,Main spring and IVG. Just bring the IVG up flush with the back of the body. It will be adjusted later.
Everything is layed out inspected.
Note how everything has it's place in order. Cockers are not hard markers to work on, it's just have everything inorder when you do it.
Setting the hammer lug
This was one of the first things I learned when I started timing cockers. Lug adjustments. Lets get out the Venir calipers and set the lug to 0.060 This is your starting point for timing. It will just be enough for the sear and lug to catch so you can then tune to your liking.
